Fado – Platters Made for Celebrations

Fado is a special collection of signature ceramics. These large, wheel-thrown terracotta platters are hand-painted by Helena and Susanna, sometimes freehand and sometimes with the help of stencils. No two platters are alike. This unique collection is crafted on-site in a family-owned pottery workshop in the village of Areias, Barcelos. The idyllic village, with its narrow cobblestone streets and breathtaking natural surroundings, is where Sthål finds much of its creative inspiration.

The series is dedicated to Portugal and Sthål’s deep love for the country. It is named Fado, after the iconic Portuguese folk music style.
