The name Sthål comes from the initials of Susanna Theander and Helena Åkesson-Liedberg.
We are both designers, stylists with a passionate interest in socializing and food. We were missing dishes and bowls with shapes, patterns and colours beyond the standard. Things that would do the food visual justice on the table and set the party off right. Since we worked with ceramics in our spare time, we simply made sure to produce exactly what we wanted.
We have named it Arabesque and presented it at Formex in January 2012 where it was warmly received.
